Dad Lesson by J.M

Ever contemplated not going to that 1st Birthday of your mates whose child likely won’t remember the birthday. I think we have all been there, at least once anyway. Well, J.M sent this tip in, and I thought it a cracker to share.

‘The first birthday isn’t for the child, it’s a celebration of the parents’ efforts over the last 364 days”

J said that with his first child, he struggled a little bit with the adjustment to parenthood. After a few months, it begins to take its toll and you start to feel zapped of energy and drive. There might be an argument here or there, a few tears as well, but this is all just the continuing adaptation and transition to parenthood.

That 1st Birthday party that everyone avoids because it just seems inconvenient, is for the Parents. A pat on the back for making one of the biggest milestones in their parenting journey - The first 364 Days.

Thanks ‘J’
